Journie is a singer-songwriter from Houston, Texas. She began performing at age 6, and immediately developed a love of singing. At age 11, she started writing and recording her own songs at home. In her senior year of high school, songs started to come to her effortlessly and people began pointing out that songwriting is her gift. She has taken the many trials and lessons of her youth and transcribed them into a discography of biographical songs written through personal experience. If she wrote it, she’s lived it. 

Journie is currently working on her debut independent album “Becoming”, which tells the story of a young girl blossoming into womanhood. Through her music, she shares true experiences of love, loss, hurt, joy, ambition, and depression, while capturing the whole range of human emotions. 

Because of her introspective style of songwriting, Journie has had to relive painful experiences while examining and embracing her own identity. The process of documenting and expressing these ideas taught her how to live authentically. She has learned to appreciate her own natural beauty. 

Journie uses her voice as an instrument to take you with her as she embarks on her own journey through life. She hopes to inspire young girls to express themselves through their own creative talents, and she aims to be a positive example to others. Journie is beyond grateful and feels blessed to live life doing what she loves.
